Rye, especially ‘The Mermaid’ can offer varied and beautiful backdrops for your Wedding Photographs.  They can include shots of the famous, cobbled Mermaid Street to intimate photographs taken in front of our Giants’ Fire Place.

There are two Beauty Salons within Rye, both of which can offer packages to suit your special day.

The Rye Retreat, which is affiliated with Aveda can offer a range of traditional beauty treatments and alternative therapies.

For that ‘extra luxury’ the highly qualified staff will visit you at ‘The Mermaid’ for your treatments, by prior arrangement.

The Tudor Room

Our Beautiful Tudor Room, set on two levels, is a truly romantic setting for Weddings - with its low hewn beams and latticed windows.  The polished hard-wood dance floor on the lower level leads, through draped  French doors,  ontoa small, private patio area.  It is totally self-contained with its own Kitchen, well-stocked Bar and Facilities.  It can accommodate up to a maximum of 90 guests, seated, and up to a maximum of 80 guests for a Buffet.

Marriage Service

Rye has four churches within its walls – St. Mary the Virgin (Church of England), St. Anthony of Padua (Catholic), Rye Baptist Church and Rye Methodist Church.

Also, for Civil Ceremonies, the picturesque Town Hall centred in the Citadel of Rye is a popular venue.  If one books a Civil Ceremony in the Town Hall, Rye’s very own Town Crier, in full dress,  will lead you and your guests to your Reception, offering a traditional Town Crier’s blessing!

Small Dining Room

Our Small Dining Room, which has a tranquil ambience and charm, all of its own, is especially sought after for private dinner parties and intimate Wedding Breakfasts.  It has a maximum seating  for 16 guests and is ideally situated  - looking out over Mermaid Street whilst adjacent to our Main Restaurant.

Private Board Room

Our Private Board Room can hold up to a maximum of 12 guests and is also situated overlooking Mermaid Street.  It is especially popular as a meeting room with full facilities available, or as the setting for a secluded Luncheon / Dinner Party.

Accommodation Tariff for Weddings

We are able to offer bed and breakfast accommodation for wedding guests, commencing at a tariff of £80.00 per person per night.  Should a large number of rooms be required a 10% discount will be allowed on this tariff.

Wedding Breakfast Tariffs

Our Wedding Breakfast commences from £45.00 per person plus a 10% service charge.  Any special dietary requirements, such as diabetic, vegetarian, etc., we would be happy to cater for individually, if required.

Wine / Champagne

We have a comprehensive Wine List from which you may select your Wines and Champagne or, we would be happy for you to bring your own wine/champagne when a corkage charge would be made.

Evening Music

Should you require a disco or live entertainment Style Promotions, our local agent, would be pleased to arrange this for you, or you may use our own audio equipment should you just require background music for your event.

Flowers

Our local florist, who is familiar with the character of the ‘Mermaid’ would  be delighted to advise and attend to your flower requirements, should you so wish.
